My short yoga mat discovery

I’ve been considering buying a new yoga mat. The good ol’ PVC mat that I’ve been using is somewhat embarrassing. The locker room smell became pretty unbearable, the chunks of missing material started to attract attention. I started to do some research. It turned out to be more time consuming than I expected.

I became really confused when I saw how many options are available. The prices were pretty serious too, there was no joking around with $150 yoga mat bag. There are many different materials, lengths, widths, textures, even decorations. I decide to narrow it down to my budget. I thought I would spend around $30 maximum.

One day, frustrated with my inability to choose, I stumbled upon a nice little website. The website was called simply YogaMatReviews. The site was operated by a group of yoga teachers who really knew what they were doing. In addition to their reviews, they had tons of user comments. I narrowed it down to three choices – Jade, Manduka and Gaiam. I noticed that Manduka Mats were the longest lasting, so I went with the BlackMat Pro – the most expensive choice.

I was happy I purchased the Manduka Mat. The “Yoga Mat Reviews” people posted their review here ->The Manduka BlackMat overview.

I noticed a huge difference in traction, I was a lot more rooted. Many poses are easier to perform. The mat is actually holding you in place. I’m going to blog about this mat everywhere, to help people in making the right choice.
